Game 11: Wichita State Edges VCU

14 Nov

Malcolm Armstead hit a jumper with four seconds left to give Wichita State a 53-51 win over Virginia Commonwealth.   In a game where the largest lead for either team was just five points, Armstead finished with 11 points, six assists, five rebounds and four steals, Carl Hall added a double-double (12 points and 11 boards) and Cleanthony Early had a team-high 13 to lead the Shockers to the win.

The win spoiled a 22-point 10-rebound effort from Juvonte Reddic for the Rams who was 8-11 from the field.  Add that to the 4-11 of Darius Theus’ 15-point effort, and the rest of the team shot just 5-27.
