#10 Florida 74 #22 Wisconsin 56: Erik Murphy tied a career high with 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Gators shot 62% from the field and outrebounded Wisconsin 39-21 in a 74-56 victory.
Not only was Murphy versatile, making shots from inside, outside and from behind the 3-point line, he was also extremely efficient shooting a perfect 10-for-10 from the field. In doing so he became the 4th Florida player and 18th in the SEC to take at least 10 shots and make them all.
The Gators controlled the game from start to finish. They started the game on a 9-0 run and came out for the 2nd half and scored seven straight, pushing a 12-point lead to 19.
Mike Rosario added 15 points and Kenny Boynton chipped in with 10 and six rebounds for Florida.
Sam Dekker and Jared Berggren were the lone bright spots for the Badgers, scoring 11 points apiece.
#15 Creighton 77 Alabama-Birmingham 60: The good news for UAB was that they held Creighton’s Doug McDermott to just five points. The bad news was they allowed the rest of the team to shoot 53% and as a result lost to the Bluejays 77-60.
Creighton was able to erase a four point halftime deficit led by Gregory Echenique’s 13-point 16-rebound game. Josh Jones added a team-high 18 points all in the 2nd half including his own 10-0 run to tie the game at 45.
Isaiah Jones paced the defeated Blazers with 16 points while Jordan Swing and Rod Rucker added 12 each.
Santa Clara 74 St. Louis 62: Kevin Foster scored 30 points to become Santa Clara’s all-time leading scorer and lead the Broncos to an upset win over St. Louis.
Santa Clara was in control of the game basically from the opening tip. After taking an early 7-5 lead Marc Trasolini (10 points, nine rebounds) never trailed again leading by as many as 20 in the 2nd half.
It is slowly becoming evident that Kwamain Mitchell is the straw that stirs the drink for the Bilikens, Mitchell is out till mid-December with a broken foot. Without him they struggled to score against the Broncos with Rob Loe and Cody Ellis the only ones reaching double figures with 13 and 11 respectively.
Fresno State 39 UC-Riverside 30: In what will probably be the ugliest game you see all season Fresno State stunk less (barely) than UC-Riverside to pull out a 39-30 win.
-Fresno State shot 7-for-30 from 2-point land
-The two teams combined to shoot 23-88 (26%)
-Fresno led at halftime 13-11
-Riverside had 14 offensive rebounds and still just 30 points
