Game One: Kent State 81 Temple 77

11 Nov

It seemed like every time Kent State made a run Temple had an answer.  That is, until there was about five minutes left to play when the Golden Flashes took their first lead since late in the first half.  The Golden Flashes finished the game on a 22-10 run to post an 81-77 win.  Manley Devereaux and Derek Jackson each scored 17 for Kent State in the win.  Will Cummings had 17 and Anthony Lee posted a double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.  The first half was a game of runs as Temple jumped out to a 21-11 lead before Kent State came back to take a two-point lead.  The Owls then finished the half on a 7-3 run to take a 42-38 lead at the break.  Jackson tallied 13 points in the first half to pace the Golden Flashes and Lee had 12 for the Owls.
