Game Seven: FGCU 65 Hartford 51

12 Nov

Dunk City got things turned up as they pulled away from Hartford, 65-51.  Many of the names we remember from last year’s Sweet Sixteen team like Bernard Thompson, point guard Brett Comer and forward Chase Fieler.  The last of that group, Fieler finished with a career-high 30 points and 11 rebounds.  Fieler’s team mate Comer added nine points and seven assists , while committing no turnovers.  The Eagles only got nine points from the bench but didn’t need much more thanks to Fieler.  For Hartford the narrative is pretty much the same.  Offensively they were carried by Mark Nwakamma who had 23 for the Hawks to go along with nine rebounds and three assists.  The rest of the team shot just 29% from the field while committing 12 turnovers.
