12 Nov

New Mexico State withstood a late rally from Hawaii and got double figures to defeat the Rainbow Warriors 95-88.  Daniel Mullings led the Aggies with 21 while Remi Berry added 18.  Sophomore big man Sim Bhullar was a force on both ends of the floor contributing 15 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.  K.C. Ross-Miller added 17 and DK Eldridge had 15 for the victors.  Hawaii was led by Isaac Fotu who had 20 points and nine rebounds and Garrett Nevels had 26 but poor shooting be felled the rest of coach Gib Arnold’s squad  shooting just 15-39 which got them behind the eight ball early and ended up being a hole they could never dig out of.  The game between the former WAC rivals was chippy from the get go which saw 48 fouls called including five technical, two of which resulted in the ejection of Hawaii’s starting point guard Keith Shamburger in the 2nd half.
