Game 10: UMass 77 Manhattan 68 OT

18 Nov

After coughing up a win with two seconds left in regulation UMass outscored Manhattan 16-7 in overtime to come away with a 77-68 win.  The Minutemen were up two with two seconds left and looking to just inbound the ball and walk away with a win. Instead they threw the ball away and then allowed a lob dunk at the buzzer by Rich Williams sending the game into an extra session.

Cady Lalanne had a monster game leading the minutemen with 23 points and 16 rebounds.  Trey Davis and Derrick Gordon combined for 26 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists and while Jabarie Hinds and Maxie Esho also registered double digits with 10 and 12 respectively.

For Manhattan Emmy Andujar did a little bit of everything, leading the team with 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while delivering the pass to Williams for the game-tying dunk.  Shane Richards added 13 points and Tyler Wilson 10 in defeat.

The difference in the game came at the free throw line where Manhattan shot just 8-16 and UMass was a stellar 93% going 27-29.
