Game 12: #11 Wichita State 71 Memphis 56

#11 Wichita State came out for the 2nd half of their game against Memphis and made a statement.  Already up seven the Shockers began the 2nd half with a 20-11 run to push the lead to 16 en route to a 71-56 win over Memphis.

The guard trio of Ron Baker, Fred Vanvleet and Tekele Cotton flexed their muscle on the stat sheet combining for 46 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.   Darius Carter added 12 points and the rest of the team added just 13 but it didn’t matter as they forced 24 Memphis turnovers.

Nick King had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead Memphis and Austin Nichols and Avery Woodson each added 10 points.

The Tigers who made just 2 of 9 3-pointers in the game shot just 29% in the first half and Wichita State finished the half on an 8-3 run to take a 29-22 halftime lead.
