Game 6: St. Mary’s 83 New Mexico State 71

18 Nov

St. Mary’s was never really threatened by New Mexico State, leading by 14 at halftime and winning by an 83-71 margin.

The Gaels were led by Aaron Bright’s 21 points but it was the work of Brad Waldow, Kerry Carter and Garrett Jackson that really paced St. Mary’s.  The trio combined for 44 points, and 27 rebounds.  Carter also added six assists and Emmett Naar stuffed the stat sheet with six points, four rebounds and seven assists.

Daniel Mullings led three Aggies in double figures with 18 points in the loss.  Remi Berry added 17 and DK Eldridge chipped in 11.  New Mexico State made just 3 of 20 three-point attempts and missed 15 free throws in defeat and couldn’t take advantage of the 22 St. Mary’s turnovers they forced.
