It was a 6am Eastern tip so it would hard to blame the home-standing East Tennessee State Buccaneers if it took them about 15 minutes of game time to arrive. Once they did, they ran out to seven point halftime lead and never looked back in a 103-90 win over Green Bay.
ETSU did it on both ends of the floor, holding the Phoenix to 36% shooting in the first half and 41% for the game. On the offensive end the Buccaneers had five players in double figures led by Ge’Lawn Guyn the Cincinnati transfer had 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists. T.J. Cromer and Isaac Banks added 17 and 12 respectively for the winners and A.J. Merriweather and Abednego Lufile each added 10.
The Phoenix were led by Kenneth Lowe’s 23 points and nine rebounds and Carrington Love pitched in with 22. Jordan Fouse filled up the stat sheet for Green Bay with 15 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and five steals in a losing effort.
